Color is pale with no observable flaws. Nose is a subtle lemon or grapefruit. The taste is there but again, subtle with no perceptible flaws. A definite echo and not shout of flavor. Low acidity. Low sweet. Low fruit. Performed well on Turkey-Day.

This viognier is reaching the end of its run...the color was a bit dusky, the nose seemed to lack freshness and the floral aspects of the variatal, and the flavor was showing the backside of the oak. Did not have what I wanted in the variatal. Perhaps a younger vintage would be more uplifting.

For an inexpensive Viognier, shows what I look for most – restraint. Classic honeysuckle bouquet with notes of pear and other stone fruit, and just a hint of tropical notes. Has that low level “hum” of minerality, almost like a long oboe note. Intriguing. It’s hard to find quality Viognier, especially in inexpensive wines. One of my favourite under $20 whites year in/year out. Serve at 8-10C. Drink now. Food pairing idea: grilled scallops.

Light body; light color; refreshing yet not full of flavor; a decent wine; crisp

Nose: pine, sweetness, a little cinnamon. On the pallet, orange zest.
