Benoit Ente 2011 Whites and Aleth Girardin 2008 Reds (Dig Wines, San Francisco): Light ruby. Attractive light char, dark red fruit, and soil on the nose. Light but overlying flesh, cherries and once again the earth that the aromatics suggest. A really good 2008 without the jarring acidity and skinniness of so many other wines from this vintage.

Nose of earth. Cherries with earth. One of the more polished 08's I can remember. Not terribly deep, but a very nice burgundy with nary an edge to it.
