  • What a delicious, accessible, classic Mersault! Not the ne plus ultra of the super premiere cru in terms of complexity, but has all the old signposts of rich, burnt vanilla, butterscotch and lemon that come through without either the excess alcohol or premox that characterizes so many modern efforts. A pretty impressive QPR and a wine to drink now.

  • What a GREAT Meursault. Fantastic Balance, lots of classic notes on the nose: Tons of nuts, pear, some lemon, but somewhat reserved. On the palate this is really delicious: first off, great acidity. Then roasted almonds, walnuts, citrus, full-bodied, really tasty and thought-provoking by itself. The finish was at least 45 seconds, maybe longer. At $50 this was a steal and could easily be mistaken as 1er cru.
Update: Getting WAY better after 2-3 hours. Crazy complex now. Combination of smoke, custard, hay, lemon, insanely long finish, and polish makes this a 93-95 wine in my book, and I suck at # scores... If you don't like the nutty, savory, balanced style of chardonnay, then this might not be for you, but if you do then check it out.
