  Bel Barbaresco in una splendida finestra di degustazione: vino preciso e fragrante, con appena alcune prime note mature e lievi piacevoli terziarizzazioni non invadenti che ne arricchiscono l'impianto già ammirevole. Vino finissimo e fresco, elegante e scorrevole. Tannini morbidi e vellutati, è assai equilibrato in bocca e profumatissimo al naso. Una meraviglia con un bel risotto al tartufo. Grande nebbiolo.
  Migliorato dalla bella degustazione che feci in azienda anni fa. Rizzi conferma di essere un'azienda mirabile per serietà e qualità dei propri prodotti. Bravi.
  P.S.: ed ancora una volta, grande questa annata 2008 per i vini della zona di Barbaresco, annata che continua a darmi notevoli soddisfazioni.

  Decanted for 2 hours then poured back into the bottle. No sediment. Very rich, ripe cherry and wet gravel feel to the aromas, super floral and high toned, with a musky sort of earthiness that creeps in to the foreground with time.
  Quite slick on the palate for Nebbiolo. Tannins are quite fine and feel mostly resolved into the structure of the wine, as does the acidity. Nice spice on the palate with a gentle sort of pinot-esque sour cherry profile. Delicate wine, the kind of Nebbiolo I really enjoy.

  1989 Produttori del Barbaresco with Chambers Street Wines (Maialino, NYC): Tasted double blind. Somewhat pale, transparent ruby; some bricking. For sure this smells of Pinot Noir, or perhaps Gamay with a couple of years on it. Rosy fresh; also maybe Dolcetto with some age? Doesn't taste like PN, though. The palate is dry; stony; cherry pits, slate. Good length. Hard to ID. Austere. Excellent. Needs a few years.
