DOA. As with the Santenay VV last year, this was not good. Actually not that far gone, and likely could have been okay about three years ago. Missed it, but no great loss.

After a two-hour decant, lots of earth and mushroom flavors with a smoky finish, but little fruit. Good with food that marries well with earthy and light pinot. Very soft and silky.

Medium garnet core, no sign of age. Earth, truffle, dead leaves and forest surround a core of red berry fruit. Light toward medium bodied, high acidity (or is there too little fruit?) and a tense, almost green/bitter finish. OK with the season's first salmon, but on its own, I couldn't manage more than one sip. 13,0% abv
Aerated to decanter 1 hour, served non-blind

(Domaine Thomas Morey Chassagne-Montrachet Rouge Vieilles Vignes) Medium red color with pale meniscus; forest floor, tart cherry, cinnamon nose; very tight, tart red fruit, mineral palate with medium acidity and firm tannins; needs 4-5 years; medium-plus finish 88+ points

Better than the previous bottle, more fruit. At one point, intense sweet cherry and vanilla. It went well with gumbo.
