Properly stored since bought from Arrowood on a visit. Cork was wet maybe 20% up, which (of course) separated upon removal with a screw pull. Good Merlot nose and color. Flavor some what subdued compared with other California Merlots. Silky tannins with wonderful mouth feel. Moderate sediment. Medium long finish. Was as fresh at the end of a 2 1/2 hour meal as 15 minutes after opening. Wonderful wine; worth the wait.

This was the first bottle that I purchased that was over $50. It was good to finally have a reason to drink it 10 years in the new house, but sad to see it go. Nice and flavorful, still with some strength good jammy flavor and a good nose. Once again, another one that I wish I had more of to keep.

A complex nose of leather, cherry cola, cranberry and rasberry. Cedar and mint aromas emerged as it sat in the glass. Very concentrated with a silky texture on the palate featuring flavors of candied fruits and cherries with a long, rather meaty finish. Significantly better than the regular bottling from this vintage. Very good!!

Another Saturday at Knightsbridge - mostly blind (Northbrook, IL): Tasted double blind. Starts with big, black fruit aromas, slightly more lean and textured on the palate. Short finish is a bit dry. Slightly past its peak.
