  • Another last puppy surprise! Based on my note from 2015 I was pretty pessimistic about this wine, I guess it was in a dumb phase then. This wine was rocking last night. Loads of blueberries and black berries with a slight smokey pepper (very light). This syrah is more on the pinot side of the spectrum with the fruit and dirt (typical stagecoach) taking center stage and less savory. This developed nicely over an hour and very food friendly. Drink now.

  • Very good but never hits greatness. It took about 30 minutes to open up. Maybe past its prime.

  • Time has not done any favors for this wine. Fruit is nearly gone, and the struxcture is non-existing. It's descent with but not great.

  • Very very good, this wine is well made. It has many layers, like ogres, which it ultimately resolves into a medium-full bodied satin wine. On pop it had very little heat that i could detect, but lots of spice and red fruit. The first taste was a bit thin but you can tell that there is a lot of stuff behind the first layer. It only took 45 minutes of air to peel off the first to the meaty part of the wine. The nose now has raspberrys, saffron, white pepper, and blueberry syrup(?) i think. There's also a nice balance between the smokey oak and i think clay (damp earthy dirt). The taste is perfectly balanced, raspberry creme tart, light mocha, white pepper, light acid with complementing tannins. I'm not sure how this would evolve over time, but its in a great place right now.
