A bit of plum and blueberry fade into a mellow, woody middle, then morph into black cherry with a hint of licorice for the finish. Dry, but not "puckery" after the fact. Blueberry pie is still lingering in my sinuses...
I'd have rated this wine a bit lower if I had paid more than $15 for it, but it was in the BARGAIN BIN at the Liquor store at which I work! ($7.99!)

I agree with most everyone's comments...a nice value wine with a lighter body than many Merlots. I like the berry flavors but did not note the same level of tannins as many. Either way, a very enjoyable wine to sip at the price I paid. Continues the Rodney Strong tradition of exceeding expectations for the price (have you tried their Zinfandels?)

Plum and licorice dominate the nose. An immediate flood of fruity goodness greets the palate. A tad thin-bodied, which, in a good way, prevents it from being too "jammy." Good structure on the finish with a bit of heat. This is still young and could cellar for 2-3 more years easy. A very good bargain for the price point, as others have noted.

Truffles and some mushrooms, lots of berries with nice strong tannins and a long aftertaste with a taste of blue berries.

An outstanding merlot (or any wine) for the price.
