Aroma of chocolate covered cherries. "Delicious, I love it" from my wife. Cranberry-grape semi sweet, and a little spicy cinnamon-nutmeg clove remains on the pallet. Wish this was not my last bottle of the 09.

Really nice wine for $8.50 a bottle on the BevMo 5cent sale. Jammy fruit with nice spice and cedar, wish it were a bit more rounded, seems a bit 2 dimensional. Hard to go wrong with an Old Vine Zin from Lodi, but I've had ones I prefer (Gen5, Maggio) that are less expensive when this wine isn't on sale.

Giving this a little time to decant, this wine is quite a pleasure on a budget. A light Zin, not as fruit forward as many Lodi offerings. My wife in a rather animated tasting moment is amusing herself calling it the Oaky Smokey wine. We paired with a traditional British Beef and Onion pie which all but overpowered the wine. Tannin levels are in the mid tongue drying region, slightly acidic and definite notes of berry.

Not very good but for .05 I am not complaining. A bit unbalanced as you have a fruit forward wine with the alcohol not being fully integrated within the wine. There is a lack of spice flavor (ie black pepper) which is disappointing considering this is a Zinfandel.

Smelled a bit like grape juice when first opened, but it did open up a bit to more complexity.
