Beautiful cherry hue on the rim, nice legs. Cherry nose. Beautifully balanced right now. Explosive sour cherries with a earthy, herbal edge. Mouth-coating and rich. Finish goes on and on. Beautiful 2007. If you are holding any of these, I can't imagine that they will get much better, but it's still got the structure to last for a half-dozen years. It stood up beautifully to a tough menu. Fabulous food wine.
Served with blackened scallops, Grain-fed Tenderloin with caramelized onions and Bearnaise sauce, Peppered grilled Potatoes, Goat-cheese/Cotswold Double Gloucester toast points with red pepper, artichoke and harrisa, cold asparagus salad with tangerine sauce, chilled bacon and creme fraiche with dill, basil and garlic.
