Very frizzante, even 6 hours after opening. Very lively and refreshing, while showing some secondary complexity. Flinty floral nose. Tastes like apple, lime, anise, grass and stone.White pepper finish lasts a while. Perhaps the best wines I have purchased at $13. Could last another five years at least.

Modest nose, but the palate is more generous. Fruit of a mostly apple character with lime, stone, anise and some herbal notes. The flavor profile is fairly complex, but there is something lacking in this wine. Somewhat on the flabby side for a Kabinett. Still a good bargain at $13 from Premier Cru before they went pyramid.

Floral nose. Complex palate of tropical fruit, honey, apricot and moderate acidity. The honey gives it a smooth creamy feel. Finish was a bit short. Th sweet vs. acidity balance was a bit to much in favor of sweet to get this to poke its nose into the outstanding category, but still an excellent wine. Two years ago, I wrote that this wine lacked complexity. Two more years in the bottle has allowed more flavors to develop, increasing complexity.

The nose showed ripe peaches, tangerine, hints of lemon and floral notes. On the palate it was soft and ripe with sweet apple and lemon. It’s tongue curling acidity shows up later and lasts into the close. The finish was dry, showing citrus rind and hints of grapefruit.

(Schlossgut Diel Riesling Kabinett) Very light yellow color ripe green apple nose; austere, tart green apple, chalk palate; medium-plus finish 87+ points
(Schlossgut Diel Riesling Kabinett) Light yellow color; nice mineral, slate, tart apple nose; tart apple, mineral, very tart finish; medium-plus finish 88+ points
(Schlossgut Diel Riesling Kabinett) ($29.00) And it’s ridiculously charming, a loveable dancing wine; a little girl very neat in her school uniform, playing hopscotch on her way home; among the most innocent and child-like of any ’09 I tasted; lots of lime and garrigue and sassafrass, piercing brightness, whistling to itself as it skips out of view around the corner. One can be fond of wine like this.

From memory, a pretty but slightly tired Kab that could have used a little more structure/acidity. Still, nice.
