  • Everyone told me this was over the hill. Glad I didn’t listen. While its Syrah dominant it was the Grenache that stole the show. Red flowers and blueberry notes. An incredibly pretty wine and as others have commented, nicely integrated with oak after all this time. Some lovely basil aromatics on the nose. It did not have an extended finish so don’t expect a lot from this and you’ll be pleased.

  • Improved a great deal in a couple of years. More integrated and restrained than before. Beautiful. Alc. is barely noticeable, which is saying something when it’s 16.2.

  • Thought I was drinking an Aussie Syrah. Wow, big wine.

  • No formal notes but this far exceeded my expectations. Seamless pillowy fruit with a touch of herbal complexity, not jammy or hot. Would it hold my interest for an entire bottle?

  • The wine is a medium to dark ruby red color. The outstanding nose has blackberries, blueberries, Asian spices, licorice, freshly cracked black peppercorns, dark bittersweet chocolate, with some nice earthiness. This has full body, fairly solid ripe tannins, and nice acidity. On the palate there are loads of berries and spice up front with dark chocolate and earthiness coming in on the back end. The finish is very long with black pepper and a touch of sweet cherries and a floral note coming into the picture. This is in a nice drinking window and will be enjoyable over the remainder of the decade.
