First off, this is a really old bottle. I really can't remember when we bought it as my old wine records were lost in our move 6 years ago. It was bought in 1990 or before. We expected it to be over the hill when we opened it. The cork was a bit softened, and there was obvious sediment in the bottle. The wine in the glass was a nine deep gold color, much deeper than most chardonnays, but beautiful non the less. The first sip had a slight sherry taste, which quickly dissapated in the glass. This wine was great. There was still a nice balance of oak and fruity tastes with a bit of flowers thrown in the bouquet. I can't compare this to when it was younger, but the flavors we tasted are really indescribeable. We throughly enjoyed this bottle.
