  • Very little browning around the edges, cherry nose and fruit in the mouth. Still ,its of fruit left with nice acid balance. Earthy old pinot nose and finish. A bit of stem flavors in the finish, but not unpleasent. Amazing wine given its 29 years old, shows what a well made Oregon wine can do

  • A bit disjointed at first but quickly developed a beautiful floral red fruit nose. On the palate lithe cherry, red berry flavors with a bit of an earthy forest floor note. Surprisingly youthful for a 20+ year old Pinot. Really a lovely wine and an unexpected hit.

  • Sourced this pretty cheaply thinking that at the least it would provide a little education/intrigue. Totally soaked cork with obvious signs of seepage. First whiff indicated that this wine was alive and well. Beautiful depth and balance on the nose-Violets,dried darker fruits of plums and prunes. All kinds of baking spices-cinnamon,cardomom,and nutmeg. Soy sauce and wet earth. Palate was just as intriguing as the nose with tons of depth=>Soy sauce, plums, smoke, dried cherries, black pepper, smoked sardines, and cured meats.
This showed well for about 90 minutes and then started to get a little out of wack on the palate. While it was clearly past prime it showed in a beautiful yet very subtle way. Kind of like watching Maddux pitch a shutout through 6 late in his career only to get pulled in the 7th after giving up 3 runs but still earning the W.

  • nose: soft and subtle at first, but grows into a lovely and nuanced nose of red fruits, soy, bits of berries, all sorts of violet tones, bits of earth and some spice tones. Very pungent and on the delicate side as it holds up for a while

taste: lithe and balanced with pretty tones of violets, red fruits, berries, plums, earth tones and a touch of spice. All on the lighter side, but all working well together and in full harmony

overall: This was a pretty wine while it lasted. It showed off some real nice class and was very perfumed for a while. Was definitely on its last legs after about 90 minutes or so, but it was a real thrill to have this and have a bottle that was very alive. This bottle had some seepage and didn't have the best provenance, but showed very well
