The 2008 Shiraz Viognier has benefited from time in the bottle and has a well integrated nose of peppery red fruits and at dried apricot lift no doubt from the Viognier that adds rather than detracts from the experience.
There is plenty of interest on the palate with peppery plum and violets joined by aniseed characters and set against the backdrop of textural tannins and balanced acidity. The wine finishes with a focus on dark fruits with a spicy vanillin aspect lingering. Review Link - www.winereviewer.com.au (drink from 2013-2020)

Dark cherry, kirsch liqueur and pepper, velvet on entry, firm midweight tannins, kirsch liqueur flavour profile (perhaps a touched stewed), medium to full bodied, touch of warmth on the end. Technically it's good, but lacks a little charm.

Very lifted aromas - the viognier doing its work - of violets, blackberry, leather, game and spice.
There's flavours of blackberry, dark cherry, raspberry, meat, leather, and finishing with clove, pepper, and subtle spicy/vanilla oak. Medium bodied only, but with good length and great balance - almost Rhone like. Will live for quite a while, and should even improve over the medium term.
