  • Nose: black fruit, smoke, pepper
    Palate: very fruity, high tannins, low acidity, smoky and earthy body, very sweet finish with menthol notes. On the "cough syrup" spectrum, and clearly past its prime. Sweetness on the finish is a little much for me, otherwise could be a couple points higher.

  • Green bell peppers intermixed with some barnyardish fur smells. Reminiscent of pauillac on the nose. However, on the palate, cherry liqueur with some imbalance of nail varnish. Quite simple in dimension and not exactly my style.

  • Wines with friends at Extra Space (Boon Keng Road, Singapore): Dark core, pink rim. Nose was all leather with a touch of meat at first, before opening up to show sweet cassis, cherry liquer, some vine leaf and a good amount of earth. Some of us spotted a touch of alcohol on the nose as well. Palate was nice and cool though, with lots of blue fruit shaded with pure, expressive cassis. Great balance. After time, some sweet plums began to show. Medium length finish, but full and round with a linger of softened tannins. Not much complexity to speak about, but a really nice drink otherwise with plenty of power and some elegance.
