Community Tasting Notes (3) Avg Score: 90.6 points

  • Cherry, Oak, wet wood, and earth on the nose upon opening. On the pallet there was cherry liquor and oak. It seemed to be very unbalanced and I could definitely notice the 15% alcohol. Not even close to a "thin" wine. It seemed to calm down over the night and had dried fruit, tons on licorice, and cherry on the pallet. It didn't have the complexity and was too concentrated to push it anywhere near a 90 score. Decent wine but I would not buy again. (87-88 points)

  • Not very subtle - robust nose, and the dried fruit on the palate is unmistakable. Good finish.

Excellent Amarone. Very elegant with layers of fruit. Wine merchant thought that this was too light and thin for an amarone and likes to have more to it but I thought this was a very good effort and was very elegant. Seems like a great value.
