  • Hmm, yes. This is a bit oaky still, for my tastes anyway. Shame as there is some nice fruit underneath, its just struggles to show itself. Not a bad wine by any means, just not my cup of tea. Better the next day. I'll be leaving remaining bottles for a couple of years

  • On the nose, blackcurrant, wild herbs, black olives....and oak! Too much of it. The palate has good structure, sweetness and acidity but this suffers from overbearing oak that masks the fruit, a fleeting mid palate and an unbalanced alcohol burn on the finish. It is by no means a bad wine, just makes me wonder what a different producer would have done with the same fruit and a lighter touch. Opens up with time and better on day 3 but this doesn't suit my palate. 86 points

  • Garrigue, kirsch, lavender, thyme, rosemary and a very subtle tone of creamy vanilla permeat the nose of this somewhat elegant and luxurious blend of Grenache and Carignan. The latter adds texture and the base for the lovely Grenache. The limited amount of oak exposure (50/50 concrete vats and oak barrels) gives a raw almost iron like structure reminding me of a Syrah. Recommended.
