Third bottle showing lots of seepage. Poor storage or cork or both. There is definitely cabernet sauvignon in this blend. Taste was quite homogenous vs the first and second bottles tasted a few months back.
Drink or hold to 2025, there’s plenty of time to revisit

Second bottle showed copious seepage. Cork was saturated and broke. Still the wine was quite similar to the first bottle, although I did notice more of a green vegetal note in the palate, suggesting cabernet sauvignon, though the blend is tempranillo and graciano.
Drink or hold

No formal note. This takes the prize for most ridiculous bottle mass since i started drinking wine. What a wanker choice of vessel. Single piece cork, no seepage Nose of leather, clove, vanilla and oak. Despite the announcement of a modern rioja, i am surprised by how integrated the wine is. On the palate, the plushness is balanced by acidity and savoriness. Good length and moreish.
Drink or hold to 2025.

Russk. Leftovers at Steak 954. My 2nd WOTN. A beautifully balanced wine. Great nose, mouthfeel and weight. Pablo brought. See my last notes. This time i noticed a bit of that pleasant bitterness [like in grapefruit or blackberry ] in the finish, that i find in Rioja Alta wines.

(Bodegas LAN Rioja Reserva Culmen) Very dark ruby color; very appealing and intense nose of exotic incense, dried black fruit, dried berry, lavender, blackberry nose; plush black fruit, blackberry, wild berry, dried black fruit, cedar, hoisin palate with firm sweet tannins; needs 3-4 years; medium-plus finish 92+ points (90% Tempranillo, 10% Graciano from 40-60 yr old vines at Pago El Rincon; 20 mos in new French oak, 18 mos in botttle)

A very smooth Rioja with earthiness and light fruit
