A Tasting of 2009 Gramenon (Shannon's): Ahhh Gramenon! High-toned red fruit (strawberries and raspberries) jump out at you with notes of baking spice and anise. Amazingly juicy and fresh and lively in the palate with ripe but not jammy red fruit. This is a wonderful younger vine Grenache.

Beautifully, almost explosively, perfumed nose of flowers, red fruits, and sassafras. Lifted and bright in the palate, and though not enormous in terms of core density. Lovely juice and great qpr.

This wine rocks! Cranberry/purple color. Soaring nose of red licorice, with floral and mineral element, some pomegranite, all of which repeat on the palate. Rich and ripe without being jammy or sweet. Bonnie loves it saying, "My perfect wine - like candy without being sweet." This is textbook fresh, unadulterated grenache. Yum!

Smells and tastes of grapes, skins, leaves and stems that have just been tossed into the crusher. It is tremendously bright, juicy and vinous with plenty of youthful exuberance. There’s quite a distinctive taste of plant matter, it’s not vegetal or herbal but it is a character that would intrigue the most intrepid botanist. With its low sulphur, slippery, silky feel and up-front nature I suspect this is here for a good time not a long time but it is deliciously ‘slurpable’.
