Decanted. Cork was in perfect form. Clearly Brett nose. Mostly blew away after 2 hours, but some still remained. Nice fruit and smooth but present tannins. Slightly jammy, but worked with tannins. if anyone still as this in their cellar, give it 2.5 hours for Brett to blow off. Not great, not horrible, but don't save it for a special occasion.

If this was a blind tasting I would not have identified this as a merlot. There was fruit that came through but it was overwhelmed by brett. There was nothing soft or well rounded that I appreciate in a good merlot. Perhaps, I'm a bit over critical on the wine, but I've had too many bretty Australian Shiraz's and brett is clearly not something I like . I will try another glass from this bottle in a day or two (vacum sealed); if there is a big difference I will note it. Otherwise, I have two more bottles of this that I find hard to look forward to.
Day Two: Bottle was open for seven hours day one, then vacum sealed. Wine was definitely better the second day. Some of the barnyard had blown off warranting a marginally higher score 87

Dark red, age balanced flavor, aromatic, still good drinking age but perhaps close to the end.

Not crazy about this one. Probably past its time. Jammy but without any real berry character.
