Bonnes Mares (Walnut Creek, Ca.): Blind Tasting of two 1996 Bonnes Mares with Mike. This sported a lighter color in the glass, and the more open nose with a touch of licorice, raspberry fruit, tobacco and cedar, more of the same on the palate, the wine opened slowly but steadily throughout the evening, lovely flavors, lots of legs, needs three more years to peak, medium body and medium finish. Tied.
