Yesterday we had the 2008 Claret from Spangler, I thought tonight we would should taste the 2007. The color is a near opaque dark garnet with fair legs and orange tint at the edges. The nose has loads of black fruit, floral, loam and forest floor. The 2007 Claret has neither Petite Verdot nor Carmenere as the 2008 Claret did. The additional Cab Franc and Merlot make this a mouth filling journey. Full bodied with round fruit, sweet with acidic layers a very mild tannic finish but lengthy none the less. This is my favorite of the two vintages and blend styles.
