Deep ruby red in color. Hints of vanilla and leather on the nose, even a hint of nuts. Hint of berries on the front of the palette but quickly overwhelmed by the med-high tannin finish. With a slightly sweet finish and a softer feel than has been my experience with Barossa Shiraz, this was not my favorite wine. It was also just a little too acidic for me as well. I really like what they produce at Grant Burge, so this was slightly disappointing but not a horrible wine, just not what I was hoping for. This would be best with a hearty meal, definitely grilled steak.
