  • Llano makes volumes of what could be best described as "pop" wines , lower alcohol slightly sweet and fruity whites for those in West Texas and beyond who like an occasional glass of wine. They have also made a lot of cheaper reds for immediate consumption.
I believe they have also made some limited better higher end red wines that were served in the Bush White House (don't hold that against them).

Well, they have really hit one out of the park with this one. It seems to have some oak, with definite plum and cigar box taste with a medium finish. I think we paid about $14 and we were rather impressed with what Llano has turned out with this smaller batch,
handcrafted wine. Believe this was part of their "wine club", but we were allowed to purchase it when we bought a mixed case in March. I did not see it on their website for sale, but I would encourage them to sell and market this. It is food-friendly with decent balance and acidity, while the fruit is not overwhelming. Alcohol at 13.7% was just right, any more would have set it off balance. Kudos to Llano for this effort. Great QPR (Quality to Price Ratio).
