Tyrrells Private Bins - 2009 reds & 2010 whites (North Ryde RSL, Sydney): Earth and iron, spice and sweet chocolate with a meaty quality. Sounds like a lot, but the nose doesn’t really jump at you. Medium-full bodied, rich and with great depth to the plummy, earthy/chocolate flavours, this still has enough acid to give it balance. If there was a ‘reserve’ bottling of the Rufus Stone wine, this would be it. Medium-long finish that avoids heat. Good wine.
