Drank with an awesome Christmas dinner of Prime Rib, Yorkshire pudding, mashed potatoes, gravy, green beans plus a little chocolate to accompany the final sips of this wine. Decanted for only about 40 minutes. A bit tight at the beginning but really opened up quickly. Nose of cedar and dark fruit. Initial taste was of cherry cola but flowed quickly to black cherry, tobacco and oak. Still has ample tannins and acidity to roll another 10 years. Loved the layers and complexity. Great grapes, production and of course vintage will allow this wine to age another 10 years at least. My only disappointment was that this was my only bottle of this vintage.

Nose of lovely briar, black berry, rish fruit, and briary tannins, same on the palate, big body, the most massive and tannic bottle I have enjoyed which suggests it will easily age another 12 years, the tannins resolved, softened and almost disappeared 45 minutes later which changed my score from 90 to 93, mouth filling fruit, very tasty, like a one day old black berry tart, long, long, flavorgul finish and aftertaste. Kathy enjoyed this wine very much although she exclusively drinks white wine to the tune of enjoying 4 pours. Benedetto paired fabulously with the Fleming's Bone-In Ribeye Steaks this evening!!!! Finally, this bottle was purchased at auction 3 weeks ago and I plan to search for it again.

From magnum, enjoyed over 3 nights. Nose of black cherry, red cherry, allspice, cedar, and forest floor, same on the palate, big body, very tasty, mouth filling fruit, nearly at peak drinking time, paired with Roasted Turkey, hint of brooding fruit and soft tannins, and a long finish and terrific aftertaste.

Nose of black cherry, black berry, and herbs, same on the palate, medium/big body, very tasty, at its peak of the drinking window, time to enjoy your cellar efforts, mouth filling fruit, sweet, rich fruit, went well with the Turkey and Swiss cheese sandwich, and a long, flavorful finish. Glad I have more in the cellar to enjoy!!
