80% Cabernet, 20% Petite Verdot. Still dark and youthful, lovely currant fruit and a sheen of American oak giving some spice and coffee. Juicy and clean on the palate with a bright line of dark fruit. Seems like this has some time left but also doesn't seem likely to evolve much, a delicious wine but foursquare and plain for '91 Ridge Cabernet.

Mostly 1991 California Cabernet Blind (Berkeley): Group's #4; my #7; 5 first; 2 second; 1 third; 4 last. Aromas and flavors of cassis, blackberries, oak, cedar, and alcohol. Big wine with a medium and still slightly tannic finish.

I should have decanted that wine --- took about 90 minutes to open up. It offers a dark, garnet, purple color with a rather muted nose of red fruits and slight cedar box. In the mouth, it's very smooth and pleasant, but not very long and a bit diluted on the mid-palate. Dominant are blackberries and raspberries, with a bit of a saline / savory finish. Overall, a very nice wine, but I don't think that it will get much better.
