I seriously scrutinized this for over-aging, and I just can't detect it, other than just an intensely pleasing mellowness draped over a basic structure of fruit and acidity with a faint aftertaste of underripe apple. It has a sweetness I would not have expected for this wine, not overpowering, just subtle, but more off-dry than I would have expected.

Not much to add to Marco and David's notes on this. This is stunning, so fresh and youthful with pure green apple and citrus fruit, forestal herbal and pine notes and a mineral base coming together seamlessly. There's gentle, barely noticeable sweetness and that '01 acidity keeping it so precise and vibrant.

Remarkably youthful, while also being a complex web of citrus fruit, minerals, pine and clear spring water. Seems more like top kabinett or maybe even a small spatlese, and not in any near or long term danger of decline. Simply fabulous stuff that belies the Grunhaus "down period." Fantastic wine!

Dinner @ Salil's (Vernon, CT): Wow... are you kidding me? This is a QbA? Over a decade old? This completely surprised me, really over-performing. Still youthful and juicy with Kabinet+ quality written all over it. Elegant, lively orchard fruit and even a hint of slate complicating the palate. Lovely stuff.

Pale straw color. On the nose, a bit of petrol, minerals and pears. On the palate, tropical fruits, apples and minerals. The wine has great acidity, good mouthfill and a medium finish. Excellent riesling and hard to believe this is only an estate riesling.
