  • This wine for me is just ok. It has some bitterness on the nose which follows through in the wine itself and is probably accentuated by the firm tannins. I would rather have a good Chianti Classico, CCR, Rosso di Montalcino or Brunello than this any day. There is a reason this wine is so cheap at Auction! This was my last bottle, thankfully.

  • Stunningly great wine with wife's cooking and delicious/interesting by itself.

Eye: Red with a slightly browning rim.
Nose: Big. Sour cherries and a light maturity check pop out.
It feels like a very attractive mix of artificial flavouring and old style traditions. We had a long talk about the nose here and found only positive words. Aromas include milk-chocolate, leather, dry tea-leaves, strawberry and tiny tar.
Mouth: Medium bodied, complex, elegant, pure and balanced. Tannins M++ and Acids M++ carry each other entirely for food and post food pleasures. Long, intrinsic, tingling and unbelievably appealing. With a bit more maturity and umpa-umpa, this would have reached VERY high!

Wife's excellent cooking: pork-kimchi-vegetables stew, wagyu (garlic, soy, black pepper) and rice with natto.
    Wife: 94p
Will continue to improve. Our last btl. QPR from another planet.

  • This is a rich and complex wine, that I think sees a bit too much oak. Better with air, but the woodiness persists. More intellectual than delightful.
