  Decent wine. But mistakenly drank in between two bold Shiraz.

  - Crimsom color and aromas of menthol, smokey and blackberry. It's balanced and has flavours of blackberry, black olive, smokey and dusty with a medium/full body. Smooth texture with a long finish - Needs a good decant. First night it took a while to open up. Blue/black fruits poking their heads out from behind the oak, but not enough excitement. Long finish however.
  
  Night 2 is a different story. The touch of oxidation brings a touch of sweetness to the wine and the fruit is more evident over the oak. Nice bright acidity to boot. The finish is long and strong and it's gonna get the friction on!
  
  Night 4 - Left a glass in the bottle and placed in the fridge to see how it would go. Beautiful blackcurrant and smoke on the nose. Palate is blackcurrant and cassis, closing with spice from the shiraz and a mild tannic grip. A touch of bitterness but not off putting. Rich fruit with a mineral element. This wine is really starting to sing now.
