A nose of dark cherries and spice, dark black garnet in color. A robust full bodies red, with black cherries, raisin, blackberry and spice, long length, a good value.

The Rocca Sveva is a big and brooding bottle of Amarone as the nose on this wine grabs your attention with black cherry liquor, dark chocolate, raisins and sage. The palate displays vibrancy while maintaining concentration with dark chocolate covered cherries, figs and a citrusy component that really sparked my interests. The finish was long and palate coating and leaving a hint of this wines high alcohol lingering.

Chocolate cherries and long finish.
Would recommend decanting for at least a half hour as it is slow to open.
Purchased at Ricardo's Restaurant in Lowell, Mass.
