No decant time, the nose is dark cherry, nutmeg, raspberry and tobacco. This had some heat to it to begin with that faded with air time. The palate is very smooth with virtually no tannins and a hint of tartness. The flavors carry through from the bouquet, this is a fairly full bodied pinot with a vey long and enjoyable finish. This is a new world expression of a pinot, definitely worth trying.

Blind tasting, red (Klintvägen, Umeå): Perceived as ester based candies and overly sunny. Pale red. Nose of raspberry jelly candies. In the mouth just a non-complex, über-easy-drinking ester based wine. M acids, low tannins and sun bath. More for smurfs than for humans. Rated: "Not ever in my cellar" by me. Some ppl really loved it.

Salmon and Cellar Thinning at Dan's House (Bellevue, Washington): Tasted single-blind (abbreviated notes) - Black cherry, spice, earth, some heat. Decent acidity, good finish. Quite fruit forward. While I liked this one (despite the heat) it didn't stand out in the crowd.

My first Chilean Pinot. Nice...not as much fruit as Oregon or Russian River, but strong notes of leather and tobacco. Mild spice. Took a while to open and was better day two.

That's the old one I lile so much. Medium bodied, fruity, with lots of ripe currants. Velvety and well integrated.
