  • What a pleasant surprise! The vegetable tones are finally gone - completely. Dark berry fruit and medium weight foundation made this pretty hard to distinguish from a middle grade Napa cab on traditional style. Enough acidity left to accompany a New York steak.

  • I'll retract my note from last night. I think the bottle is off. I tried again tonight and there's something on the nose that immediately puts me off and that's impossible for a good bottle like this. The mouth is equally poor. I'm going to exchange it and try again.

  • First time I've ever said I don't like a Fairview Cellars wine.
This had a vegetal nose that wasn't good, but not corked. There was not much fruit and frankly, for the money was a stinker. Decided to open a Beringer Knight's Valley 2010 Cab Sav and it KILLED this. I have a Wrath and Iconoclast and if they are anything but great, I'll boycott Fairview Cellars henceforth. Sorry Bill, I have had some great wines from you, but this sucked.

  • med+ ruby
    med+ intensity, youthful
Touch of Vegetal [not green] lots of fresh red berries
T: Dry, med+ acid, med body, med/+ intensity, med + finish
    Predominately red fruit profile

Conc: This was is good. its not over the top complex, but has the back bone to go with food. Bottle was opened about 4hrs before drinking
