Tasted by oxwombat on 1/20/2024 & rated 94 points: Opened at the 4S in HK. Enjoyed first pour.

Even from P&P, this was performing very well. Great red fruit wafting from the glass, powerful on the palate but very integrated and elegant. Long finish and you could immediately tell that this would just get better with some air.

Before this, my expectations had been tempered somewhat given comments about how 'Rousseau should stick to Gevrey'. But they did an excellent job with this one, and it was really enjoyable. Probable upside even though it's in a great spot right not; would seek out again, and thanks to M as always for sharing. (805 views)
Tasted by Hugo Hilde on 1/14/2024 & rated 93 points: A big step up from Gevrey and Jacques, grand cru intensity on the nose, fresh with citrus alongside red berries.
Growing refinement in the glass, quite an elegant take on CdlR, red berries all the way, long-ish finish.

Would like to revisit in a few years. (560 views)
Tasted by hajoha on 11/13/2023 & rated 95 points: Rousseau Clos de La Roche 2013.
Yes baby!
Fokusert helt ut i finish.
Sitter lenge med meget pene tanniner. 94-95p (855 views)
Tasted by Collector1855 on 8/1/2022 & rated 96 points: Initially a bit closed, earthy. Then with time in the glass opening up more and more in the glass. Excellent aromatic depth, underbrush, some farmyard funk, red and dark fruit. Real Grand Cru density on the palate. A top tier Burg. Keep or decant. 96+ (2693 views)
Tasted by Xavier Auerbach on 10/18/2021 & rated 94 points: A private dinner (Restaurant Zoldering, Amsterdam, NL): Very delicate, toute en finesse, silky and seamless, gentle and floral, with a charm which almost hides the earthy “prodondeur”, floating but not fleeting, long finish with a lovely touch of sweet oak. A very feminine Clos de la Roche. (3405 views)
Tasted by shifter on 7/27/2021 & rated 93 points: Andrew's Birthday 2021: Decant off the minimal sediment. Nose jumps out of the glass with deep red fruit and spice. Velvety palate, well balanced with a tight finish. Needs more time to mellow and integrate. (2768 views)
Tasted by Vini Ciclismo on 6/21/2021 & rated 93 points: refined and spice, cherry pip, deep and intense flavours, blue and red berries, plenty of tannins. (2405 views)
Tasted by Hanibal on 3/26/2021 & rated 93 points: Lots of raspberry taste and fruity, pure red fruits, finesse to the max, very enjoyable now but I would keep them a few more years before opening (3258 views)
(2397 views)
Tasted by fizz on 9/25/2020: Red fruits, florals, five-spice, forest floor aromas. Palate shows similar complexities. Clean and fresh flavours, with intensity and finesse. No rush on these. (1831 views)
Tasted by CamWheeler on 9/25/2020 & rated 92 points: SLDS - PR GC: Lifted and bright nose with roses, musk and graphite. Very refined on the palate, excellent balance with that same fresh fruit and acid lift. Got roughed up a little next to the 2010 Ponsot CdlR, but this was still excellent. (1747 views)
Tasted by cldestate on 7/16/2020: 3 are cosume (1913 views)
Tasted by Hanibal on 7/10/2020 & rated 93 points: After the 2013 ruchottes from AR this seemed curled up in a fist. Allot of power but in a dormant phase right now... (2261 views)
Tasted by cldestate on 7/2/2020: 2 (1658 views)
94-95 (2308 views)
Tasted by drjb on 2/26/2020 & rated 93 points: At Corella Restaurant, Woolloongabba. This wine has an immediately attractive clear cherry red colour and an attention grabbing nose of red cherries, raspberries, blueberries, spice and Darjeeling tea. The palate is extremely pretty and has an attractive mouthfeel that lingers gently and reveals more complexity with time. it remains essentially lightweight but pretty is a characteristic that will always leave a happy memory. (1887 views)
Tasted by SLab on 10/14/2018 & rated 94 points: Vin magnifique. (3111 views)
Tasted by Jeremy Holmes on 4/12/2018: It was immediately expressive from the get go with aromas of cherry, raspberry, blueberries, beetroot and earth. It was so fine and silky against the gums and filled the mouth with flavour without any sensation of heaviness. There was a delicious imprint of flora and earth once swallowing and flavours really lingered. (3603 views)
Tasted by Sen4469 on 4/5/2018 & rated 92 points: Good but too young. Will try it again in 5 years. (3201 views)
Tasted by T.E.D. on 9/28/2017 & rated 94 points: Such a baby but oh so good. Pure rose box, crispy berries and a streak of gravelly mineral that makes this almost thirst quenching. (4010 views)
Tasted by Mazy on 4/30/2017 & rated 93 points: Ouvert puis carafé 30 minutes.
(4150 views)
Tasted by phil the agony on 1/1/2017 & rated 92 points: Bû sûrement un peu trop tôt .
17/20 (+++) (3877 views)
Tasted by Jeremy Holmes on 10/12/2016: Found it for a good price on a list and had to order it. The nose was wide open and expressive. It was very spicy with aromas of sarsaparilla, freshly grated ginger, rose petals, rhubarb and blue fruits. It was velvety in the mouth with excellent volume, detail and minerally line. Acidity was crisp on the finish and it really fanned out after swallowing. Great red Burgundy! (3387 views)
Tasted by hajoha on 4/20/2016 & rated 92 points: Domaine Armand Rousseau 2013 (Territoriet, Oslo): Litt vanskelig nese på denne.
Noe kantete.
Lang finish.
Dette trenger mer tid. 92p for nå. (4183 views)
Tasted by HowardNZ on 7/13/2015: 2015 Tasting at Domaine Armand Rousseau: New oak 10%. An expressive nose of small plums and kirsch, underpinned by warm clay, rust and cooked meat juices. Fairly closed and tight on palate. However, the wine has all of the structure, material and acidity, again showing the '13 signature acid profile, needed to be an excellent Clos de la Roche. Real, serious fruit weight. A flavour profile of red and black cherries, cooked game meats and a ton of soil. Great potential here. (93-94) (4789 views)

Pinot Noir

Varietal character (Appellation America) | Varietal article (Wikipedia)
Pinot Noir is the Noble red grape of Burgundy, capable of ripening in a cooler climate, which Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot will not reliably do. It is unpredictable and difficult both to grow and to vinify, but results in some of the finest reds in the world. It is believed to have been selected from wild vines two thousand years ago. It is also used in the production of champagne. In fact, more Pinot Noir goes into Champagne than is used in all of the Cote d'Or! It is also grown in Alsace, Jura, Germany, the U.S., Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Romania, Switzerland, Austria, Croatia, Serbia, Italy, and so forth, with varying degrees of success.

Pinot Noir is one of the world's most prestigious grapes. It is very difficult to grow and thrives well in France, especially in Champagne and Burgundy. Pinot Noir thrives less in hot areas, is picky on soil, and deserves some oak storage.

Pinot Noir, or Blauburgunder / Spätburgunder in German, is a blue grapevine - and, as the German name suggests, the grape comes originally from Burgundy in France.

The grape, which thrives in calcareous soils, is used primarily for the production of red wine, and it is widely regarded as producing some of the best wines in the world. The wine style is often medium-bodied with high fruit acidity and soft tannins. It can be quite peculiar in fragrance and taste, and not least in structure - which may be why it is referred to as "The Grapes Ballerina".
Pinot Noir is also an important ingredient in sparkling wines, not least in champagne since it is fruity, has good acidity and contains relatively little tannins.
The grape is considered quite demanding to grow. The class itself consists of tightly packed grapes, which makes it more sensitive to rot and other diseases.

Pinot Noir changes quite easily and is genetically unstable. It buds and matures early which results in it often being well ripened. Climate is important for this type of grape. It likes best in cool climates - in warm climates the wines can be relaxed and slightly pickled.
In cooler climates, the wine can get a hint of cabbage and wet leaves, while in slightly warmer regions we often find notes of red berries (cherries, strawberries, raspberries, currants), roses and slightly green notes when the wine is young. With age, more complex aromas of forest floor, fungi and meat emerge.

In Germany, Switzerland, Austria and Hungary, it often produces light wines with less character. However, it has produced very good results in California, Oregon and New Zealand.

With its soft tannins and delicate aroma, it is excellent for white fish, chicken and light meat. For the stored wines you can serve small game. Classic duck breast is a matter of course, a Boeuf Burgundy and Pinot Noir are pure happiness.

Pinot Noir loses quality by over-harvesting.
Pinot Noir is prone to diseases, especially rot and mildew. Viruses cause major problems especially in Burgundy.
Pinot Noir are large round grapes with thin skins. Relatively high in alcohol content. Medium rich tannins and good with acid.
As a young person, Pinot Noir has a distinctly fruity character such as raspberries, cherries and strawberries.
A mature Pinot Noir, the taste is different. Cherry goes into plum and prune flavors. It smells of rotten leaves, coffee, moist forest floor and animal wine. This must be experienced.
In warm climates you find boiled plum, some rustic, little acid.
If the grapes are over-grown, the wine will be thin, with little color and flavor.

Burgundy

Les vins de Bourgogne (Bureau interprofessionnel des vins de Bourgogne) (and in English)

Burgundy - The province of eastern France, famous for its red wines produced from Pinot Noir and its whites produced from Chardonnay. (Small of amounts of Gamay and Aligoté are still grown, although these have to be labeled differently.) The most famous part of the region is known as the Cote d'Or (the Golden Slope). It is divided into the Cote de Beaune, south of the town of Beaune (famous principally for its whites), and the Cote de Nuits, North of Beaune (home of the most famous reds). In addition, the Cote Chalonnaise and the Maconnais are important wine growing regions, although historically a clear level (or more) below the Cote d'Or. Also included by some are the regions of Chablis and Auxerrois, farther north.

# 2013 Vintage Notes:
* "2013 is a vintage that 20 years ago would have been a disaster." - Will Lyons
* "low yields and highly variable reds, much better whites." - Bill Nanson
* "Virtually all wines were chaptalised, with a bit of sugar added before fermentation to increase the final alcohol level." - Jancis Robinson

# 2014 Vintage Notes:
"We have not had such splendid harvest weather for many years. This will ensure high quality (fragrant, classy and succulent are words already being used) across the board, up and down the hierarchy and well as consistently from south to north geographically apart from those vineyards ravaged by the hail at the end of June." - Clive Coates

# 2015 Vintage Notes:
"Low yields and warm weather allowed for ample ripeness, small berries and an early harvest. Quality is looking extremely fine, with some people whispering comparisons with the outstanding 2005 vintage. Acid levels in individual wines may be crucial." - Jancis Robinson

# 2017 Vintage Notes:
"Chablis suffered greatly from frost in 2017, resulting in very reduced volumes. As ever, the irony seems to be that what remains is very good quality, as it is in the Côte d’Or. Cooler nights across the region have resulted in higher-than-usual acidity, with good conditions throughout the harvest season allowing for ripe, healthy fruit." - Jancis Robinson

# 2018 Vintage Notes:
"The most successful region for red Burgundy in 2018 was the Côte de Beaune. The weather was ideal in this area, with just enough sunlight and rain to produce perfectly balanced wines naturally." - Vinfolio
