Tasted by tmoritz1 on 12/3/2011 & rated 90 points: Drinking very nicely now-berry and dried fruit-Tannis are well blended and not too pronounced-Nice balance and acidity- (3814 views)
Tasted by fultonjf on 11/17/2011 & rated 90 points: What a difference 3 years makes. The green notes are strong, the finish is smooth and if you like cab franc, you will not be disappointed. What surprised me most was how vibrant the wine tastes and how much bouquet is left on the nose. No reason not to drink away if you have them. (3923 views)
Tasted by pinoteer on 11/5/2011 & rated 85 points: Decanted for several hours. Loads of green pepper and jalapeño pepper, but only a little black cherry fruit. Nice balance. Moderate length finish. Velvety. More fruit would garner a higher score. (3748 views)
Tasted by rjonwine@gmail.com on 4/22/2011 & rated 91 points: Very dark red violet color; Cabernet Franc, tart currant, brooding, beets nose; plush, poised, tart currant palate; medium-plus finish 91+ points (1008 views)
Tasted by tmoritz1 on 3/2/2011 & rated 88 points: Berry nose. Good acidity and medium to light tannins.Hint of minerals.Fresh tasting and goes with a wide range of foods. Perfect everyday wine and a good value (4191 views)
Tasted by curtispomeroy on 2/12/2011 & rated 88 points: I'm generally not a big fan of cab franc but tonight I really enjoyed this wine. Served it with vegetarian pizza and a beet salad which was perfect pairing. (4211 views)
Tasted by tmoritz1 on 10/16/2010 & rated 88 points: Very good all purpose everyday wine that is a versatile and a good value. (1811 views)
Tasted by tmoritz1 on 2/2/2010 & rated 88 points: Very good with food. Nice acidity. Good but medium finish. Nose of dark fruit with earthy overtones (2099 views)
Tasted by tmoritz1 on 11/1/2009 & rated 89 points: Better as it aged a bit.Perfect with a wide variety of foods. Very nice nose of plum and some dark prune overtones-Medium finish and not much complexity but all in all a very good everyday wine (2183 views)
Tasted by curtispomeroy on 10/29/2009 & rated 88 points: Has shed most of the green aspects that can make a young CF tough to drink. I enjoyed the nose more than the palate but that is because i prefer more fruit. As others have noted, this really requires food and is not a sipping wine. Very good representation of Loire CF. (2101 views)
Tasted by sadofsky on 9/8/2009: Nice deep red color. Wet cement on nose, with a little blackberry. On palate: almonds, cherry. Decent finish. Nice value. (2199 views)
Tasted by whits on 5/17/2009 & rated 87 points: dark red color with bright ruby edges, fragrant, with vegetables, gravel and berries on the nose, cherries on the palate, along with stone, and earthy character, overall a light and clean personality, good pair with Chinese chopped duck and noodles, a value, incredible food wine (2345 views)
Tasted by tmoritz1 on 3/27/2009 & rated 89 points: Fresh a with a deep cherry nose-well bleded taste and medium to light tannis-perfect with a wide rang of foods Verry good value (2439 views)
Tasted by Tpety on 1/19/2009 & rated 90 points: Nice drinking wine. Decanted for 4 hours which helped. (2482 views)
Tasted by thirtyoneknots on 1/1/2009: Boy this was good; nice tannin, varietally correct, lots of sice that I didn't exactly expect. Vegetables behind the fruit without being vegetal. Really nice stuff for $15ish. I'd love to explore more food pairing possibilites with this--it was great with New Years Day dinner. (2430 views)
Tasted by SGates on 12/29/2008 & rated 87 points: Drank with Christmas dinner. Great food wine that went well with the pot luck of holiday foods we gathered. Acidity cut through cream sauces and gravies and it had enough tannins to give it a nice finish. Definitely more herbal than fruity and probably not something I would drink by itself. (2535 views)
Tasted by JamesSanders on 12/21/2008 & rated 88 points: Squarely in its drinking window. Green pepper notes really starting to dominate and there's still some agave. (2506 views)
Tasted by Tpety on 9/29/2008 & rated 86 points: Drank with TT over BBQ ribs. Not bad, not great. (2572 views)
Tasted by Tpety on 9/29/2008 & rated 88 points: Drank with Greg and Mom over BBQ (2581 views)
Tasted by JamesSanders on 8/10/2008 & rated 88 points: Consistent with the prior note but this time the vegetal note was more like green pepper. Lively and approachable. This is a wine to drink over the near term. (2568 views)
Tasted by BBBH on 8/5/2008 & rated 86 points: OK everyday wine, lacking in complexity and deep interest (2617 views)
Tasted by jwwinec on 7/30/2008 & rated 90 points: Beautiful and fresh, not as heavily extracted as many 2005 Chinons and drinking well now. (2543 views)
Tasted by polimeri on 7/14/2008 & rated 90 points: A very open and juicy chinon. The most approachable Cab franc that we have tried. Beautiful flavors. We were able to drink before dinner and with dinner. (2552 views)
Tasted by jeffreym123 on 5/14/2008 & rated 87 points: nice tannins, heavy on the cherry flavors. just seemed to be missing something. (3036 views)
Tasted by fultonjf on 5/7/2008 & rated 89 points: Fantastic value. Still young, but excellent color, nice flavor and a very impressive finish. Cherry fruit is subtle but very nice. Balanced finish. Looking forward to letting my other bottles age. (2971 views)

Garagiste (12/3/2007)
(BREDIF Chinon) 2005 Chinon Dear Friends, Grab them while you can. Quasi- everyday wines like this are about to be a thing of the past (at least from one of the finest vintages for toothsome Chinon in the last twenty) and I’m securing as many cases of the best wines as I can. The 2005 Loire vintage had many areas of acclaim but I hold to the fact that the tannic/mineral infused Cabernet Franc from Chinon was its epicenter - the wines can be simply spectacular at the high end and at the moderate price level they are basically as grand (especially if a producer concentrates on one bottling instead of 3-4 luxury bottlings - as is the case below). The 2005 wines from Chinon represent some of the very best buys in red wine from the last decade and they will age for years, unfolding sweet layers of rock and spice as they uncoil. Glorious, medium weight Cabernet Franc, woven black/purple color with strong earth tones just after opening then rounding out with sweet gripping tannins - this is just what you look for in a beautifully made wine to compliment your meal on a Wednesday night. Enough said - I bought a case for myself just because. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED for outstanding value and bang for your declining dollar ONE SHIPMENT ONLY with perfect provenance at this price 2005 Marc Bredif Chinon Thank you, Jon Rimmerman Garagiste Seattle, WA Loire2110
