Tango Sur, Chicago, IL
Tasted Monday, December 17, 2007 by Steve Jones with 566 views
Tango Sur- big meaty Argentinian steakhouse with nothing over $19 on the menu. Wow! What a great place and great food. A perfect backdrop to some South American wines!
We just passed the bottles around as we had appetizers of baked Argentine provolone and stuffed eggplant and then dinner. It was a fun night!
Order of finish:
First place: Almaviva
Second place: Don Melchor 2000
Third place: Catena Alta
Honorable mention: Saurus
Great quality for price from South America!
2003 Bodega Familia Schroeder Pinot Noir Saurus 91 Points
Argentina, Patagonia
Pinot Noir 60% Malbec 40% Argentina. Lots of cherries and toasty heat on the nose and palate. Nice suppleness in the flavors, decent finish.
