Very dark maroon red—amazing color. Smelled very young, tight with some herbaceous and red berry notes that was somewhat shut down initially, but opened up nicely over an hour. Still fairly tannic with great potential and a finish that lasted over 45 seconds. 91-94

  • 1995 Château Margaux 97 Points

    France, Bordeaux, Médoc, Margaux

Awesome dark falu maroon red with the scent of black currants, earthy mushrooms and raspberries. Very refined tannins that mellowed over an hour (decanted for an hour as well). Wine definitely lingered on the palate with a finish that went on and on—I stopped timing at 45 seconds because I was distracted by some food. Amazing wine and my WOTN. 94-98

MB chocolate cake with vanilla and chocolate gelato.

  • 1995 Château Suduiraut 92 Points

    France, Bordeaux, Sauternais, Sauternes

Awesome golden yellow that with a hint of light orange. Great Sauterne nose that immediately beckoned some botrytis and the complexity that comes with it. This wine did not disappoint, and was surprisingly light in texture—not nearly as heavy as many other Sauterne wines. 90-93
