Minimal notes, since WIML was there.
This was definitely more like an Italian Sangiovese than the 03 Firebreak, but it still had an overall sweetness that threw everything slightly off.

Very new world flavors that were a bit overwhelming when tasted with Italian wines based on Sangiovese. Gave myself a breather before having more wine.

Could tell it was from California--pleasing wine that was lost a bit among the others. Should not have had it after the Firebreaks.

At first this wine was pleasing and I thought it was good but not very unique. Gave it some time and tried it again later in the night--it really opened up and became very enjoyable with my steak.

Limited notes from OL. At first taste, this really reminded me of a new world wine (with a hint of raisin), and I was going to rate it an 88. But, I tried it again later on in the night and it really opened and dropped the raisin notes and became very pleasing.

This again was one of those wines that seemed to be somewhat acidic at first, and was somewhat disappointing. But, I persevered and poured it a total of three times during the night, and it significantly improved during the last two tries. I dedicated a glass to it and gave it good aeration. Definitely went well with the steak I was having.

No notes, other than WOTN for me. This wine was very balanced and I put it aside and sampled constantly with my meal.

NV Krug Champagne Brut Grande Cuvée 93 Points

Nice hint of toasted honey and very pleasing acidity balance. Love this wine. Tough to beat--especially when it was the first wine of the night.
