Single blind. Tighter and more mineral on the nose. Shows more petrol character with aeration. Righter and more minerally on the palate. Brooding intensity but very precise and with fantastic line. Assume CSH. ****1/2

Single blind. Quite a rich, slightly waxy, ripe, rounded nose. Quite tropical. A little rounder and slightly more difuse on the nose. Seems a little warmer and with a little less to say. Very good indeed though. Assume CFE. It does become a little more focused and mineral with air. ****

.A nice mix of sweet and slightly sweaty savoury nose. Relaxing a bit. Still quite 95 but this is showing nicely. A slight dustiness to the fruit. ***1/2

.Very mature, sweet-fruited nose. Tut, corked on palate. Shame, there's an attractive, sweet earthiness underneath.

.Quite an inviting nose of reasonably sweet red fruit, almost a touch of caramel too. However, the palate is a little brusque initially. Quite tart and lean though it does relax and show far better with food. Goes particularly well with the salsa verde. **(*1/2)

.Really quite glossy and polished on the nose. Quite dense dark red fruit underneath. Good red fruit on the attack. A level of acidity and muted tannins. Good fruit though, bit possibly slightly anonymous. ***1/2 to ****

.Lovely red fruited nose, just with a hint of dustiness. A little cleaner and brighter fruited than the early 90s wines a density of red fruit here. ****

.Garnet rather than ruby. A touch of sweetness with a slight volatility and a caramel edge. A touch sweaty. Similar on palate to the 90 but a little tauter and more mineral. A little more spine. ****

.Most evolved on the nose, caramel, red fruit. Very smooth and rounded on the attack through to the mod-palate. Some richness. Nicely balanced. There's a slightly lush easiness here, but who cares. Very smooth and very drinkable. ****

Slightly soupy, sweaty, sweet caramel tinged nose that follows through to the palate. Focuses a little with air and as it cools down. Respectable but shaded by some of it's company. ***

.Pale garnet. Very evolved, old nose. Drinkable but no character, just old wine. (**)*

.Quite a light, lifted, red-fruited nose. Lighter and more ethereal than the Latricieres. Quite full, open and honest on the palate. Inviting fruit. Bright and vibrant whilst retaining depth. ****1/2

.Again, a lighter and more ethereal nose cf the Latricieres. It's got that sense if openness of red fruit on the nose, but tighter and slightly more tannic on the finish. **(**)

Half a bottle, open 8 hrs and apparently faded somewhat. Slightly dusty red fruited nose. Quite good weight and length but really quite approachable. A touch rustic and a little rough around the edges in an unkempt rather than unruly sense. Good density to the fruit but again, Jouan doesn't wow me. ***1/2

Half. Quite a deep old gold. Nicely barley sugared. Deep and rich but with a slightly medicinal edge on the palate. An austere rather than coconut cream Rieussec. ***

NV Krug Champagne Brut Grande Cuvée 91 Points

.Fairly recent disgorgement. Reasonably typical on the nose. Nicely balanced but also surprisingly mellow initially though it dies tighten up in the glass before relaxing again and showing some Krug richness. **(**)
