This received very good comments from the other tasters at the table. I personally though this was good, with a smooth nose and palate, but I am not a big fan of sparkling wines so I don't think I could really appreciate.
Nice golden yellow. Generous nose that is definitely showing some signs of oxidation and age. Excellent palate. Nice long finish. This was my first time tasting this wine and I was pleasantly surprise, despite the little oxidation on the nose.
Wow! Generous nose with cassis, leather, mushroom, spices, forest floor. Decent amount of fruit and tannins despite the age. Some were offended by the brett, but I liked this very much! Still drinking quite well. Would go very well with a grilled steak.
The nose was a little bit hot upon opening, but it improved with time in the glass. I thought this was still drinking quite well, but I wasn't impressed as much as some of the other tasters tonight who really liked this wine.
A little bit hot upon opening. Gorgeous classic Pichon Lalande nose with cedar, plums. Drinking very well right now and a strong performer despite the challenging vintage.
This was slightly corked (although some tasters at the table disagreed) so it was difficult to see and appreciate what was behind, but I could definitely see a solid backbone and a Parker style palate. Too bad!
Oh boy! This is soooooo good! Dark orange color. Not overly sweet, but quite rich and complex palate. Perfect balance with good acidity and not overly sweet. Oranges, clementines. Extraordinary!!!
