Usually this can be a bit too oaky and thick for me, but I found this energetic and floral. Sure the price will still be crazy high, but this is really nice. Nice complexity and layers of floral and herbal notes.
France, Bordeaux, Libournais, St. Émilion Grand Cru
I'm always ready to love Figeac, so when it's a bit off I'm crestfallen. This was super chewy, tannins were really wooly. The palate was more red than dark fruit, but this was a bit too one dimensional to really love.
France, Bordeaux, Libournais, St. Émilion Grand Cru
Loaded with coffee notes and dark DARK fruits. Palate was incredibly tannic with more dark fruits and mocha. Thought the structure was nice, but the flavor profile was just too modern to really love.
What I liked about this compared to most other Pomerol's was its earthy component. Definitely some funky mushroom/earth stuff going on here which i really liked. Had some dense blackberry, coffee, and tobacco notes going on too.
Definitely my favorite from Pomerol. Super funky notes with some veggies, wet earth, and tobacco. Palate was very floral and balanced. This had a lot going on and I was a fan.
In a sea of heavyweights, Cantemerle drinks more like a featherweight. Like other vintages, this had a lot of smokey minerals on the nose and beautifully lithe dark fruits on the palate with some nice florals too. Such a great wine.
A really nice wine with great structure. Certainly a dark fruit profile with lots of earth, florals and tobacco. Nice balance here...should be very nice in 15+ years.
Thought that this was very interesting. Layers of dark fruit, tobacco, earth, and mineral. Certainly has that classic, masculine Barton profile...but so coiled up at this point it's all potential energy at this point.
Lots of warm spices, some oak, coffee, and florals on the nose. Its palate had good black fruit, some earth, florals and tannins. Pretty big wine, but has some promise.
A very masculine wine with dark berries, nice tobacco, and subtle earth. A lot of potential here with great layered fruits, earth, and florals. Very tasty.
Found myself wishing this had more complexity. This was very simplistic and one noted with big, dark, dense blackberries on the palate. Put it away for a while I suppose.
Living on the edge here. Intensely sweet fruits; coconuts, peach, passionfruit with an important dose of mineral and acid. Without the balance this would have been just too sweet.
A real showstopper and one of the finest young Sauternes I've had. Complex tropical fruits (peach/apricot/mango) and just sizzling acidity. So good. Definitely a buy.

Very sweet oaky nose with dark fruit, berries, and mocha. A real departure from the brilliant 2010 vintage. Not a bad wine at all, but a let down.
