Introduction

Meeting was arranged only a few hours in advance, everybody contributed lovely wines.

Flight 1 (4 Notes)

  • NV Jacques Selosse V.O. Blanc de Blancs Extra Brut 93 Points

    France, Champagne, Champagne Grand Cru

Rich nose with yeast, mature tones, honey. Taste the same as nose, good body and tension, nice acidity level. At first a bit nervous and unbalanced, after some time in glass it smoothens out into a lovely drinking champagne.

  • 2004 Maison Leroy Puligny-Montrachet 93 Points

France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Puligny-Montrachet

Golden colour. Nose stone fruit, some caramel, secondary tones, quite complex. Taste very rich, balanced, mineral, balanced acidity, everything falls in its place, good length. A wine to enjoy.

  • 1994 Château Mouton Rothschild 95 Points

    France, Bordeaux, Médoc, Pauillac

Lovely complex mature nose with leather, mushroom and some graphite, very balanced. Taste red and dark fruit, appears younger than one would expect from a 1994 wine, great mouthfeel, long finish.

  • 2010 Antinori Tignanello 93 Points

    Italy, Tuscany, Toscana IGT

Lovely wine. Still a bit young and tight, opens up in glass slowly. Cherries, but also darker fruit. Still some tannins, but round and silky. Some oak. Long finish.
