Perfumed nose - roses, lime, lemon peel and musk. Nice balanced sweetness, fairly straightforward and upfront fruit but has good freshness as well. Good!
Nutty, oxidative, woody and orange character. Plenty of funk and texture on the palate, lots of interest. Drinking well now and over the next few years.
France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Meursault 1er Cru
Lemon, slate and light oak. Clean and straight laced on the palate, with decent follow through. Good balance but not all that interesting at the moment.
White pepper, menthol, some stem and lemon. Some funk on the palate, with a little spirity character as well. Has good length and interest to bring it up a bit.
Graphite, white florals, pungent citrus, earth and grapefruit. Tangy on the palate with good minerality and a nice balance of sweet and sour. Good length and acidity. Liked it.
Stem, toast, meaty and raspberry notes. Medium length, moderate depth and a little green stemmy character as well. If it had more depth it would be good but not quite enough there.
Australia, New South Wales, Central Ranges, Mudgee
Blind. Nice perfume - roses, smoke, blackcurrant, blueberry. Quite sweet on the palate, with ripe flavours and fruit that aligns with the nose. Mid length and depth. Nice but not a lot of points of interest. A splash of Hunter Shiraz in this.
Blink. Smoke, marshmallow, lemon, pear, chalk and floral - intense nose with saline notes as well. Fresh and light on the palate with cutting acidity, but also have some depth to it. A little fruit sweetness but it is in the background. Really liked the style of this.
Cherry, roses, musk and light stems - high toned and delicate aromatics. High in acidity, cleansing and fresh with light red fruits. Really good to try this.
Charcoal, chocolate, mocha, candy and licorice, with a heavy overlay of oak. The palate is obnoxiously sweet with barely any acidity or sense of balance. Rather disgusting.
Graphite, raspberry, redcurrant, briar and ash. Sweet edges on the palate, quite a savoury kick through the middle. Good length and interest, though the sweetness starts to stick out a bit the more I go back to it.
Purple coloured. Redcurrant, blackcurrant, cherry and some meatiness with air, though it retains a clean profile overall. The palate has heavy fruit though also steps up the tannins to balance it out. Very youthful and bold. Bears a family resemblance to the 2012 but also different in style.
Violets and stems, raspberry, briar and cherry - lots of layers to it. Restrained red fruit on the palate with a good tannic backbone, good interest and length here. Shows some finesse throughout, I quite like it! I preferred the cooler style of this to the 2009, but both had their fans at the table.
Good aromatic lift, some blackberry, graphite and tar with roses as well. Palate is a good mix of dark fruit and tannic grip. Good intensity while retaining some class.
Australia, South Australia, Mount Lofty Ranges, Adelaide Hills
Blind. Licorice, sweet berry fruit, kirsch and a little oak. Licorice on the palate, ripe in style - good balance at the moment but I'm not sure where it would head with more age.
Blackberry, toasty vanilla and blackcurrant. Too much oak really, with the palate feeling dominated by it and the fruit not holding up enough over time. I did think this might be the outcome when I tried it early on but was hoping the oak would subside.
Australia, Victoria, Central Victoria, Nagambie Lakes
Eucalypt, ash, tar and graphite on the nose. Punchy intensity on the palate, with some savoury earth to match up to the fruit. Good length. Drink now-5 years I think.

Smoky, mandarin, sweaty socks and toast. Badly disjointed on the palate, with up and down fruit intensity and no flow to the acidity.

Quince, orange, honeycomb and lime. Good sweetness upfront, moderate acidity means this tastes quite rich. Limited complexity, but nice to drink.
