A little while since I've had one of these and it's on a good path still. Lifted nose, with lemon, white florals, slate and pear. Bright, energetic acidity - has powerful fruit that is swept through with cutting acidity. Very clean and precise wine.
Chocolate, earth and orange peel on the nose. Good fruit depth still showing on the palate, has taken on some complexity with further spice and earth. Very good but maybe just lacking the excitement and energy of previous bottles.
Apricot, florals, graphite and mandarin - high toned aromatics. Rich, has acidity to balance well. Only a touch of sweetness that folds into the wine well. Good length.
Disgorged 07 July 2005. Lemon, quince, marzipan and biscuit notes. Still has good freshness, sweet at the edges with some earthy complexity. Came back to this at the end of the night and it was still really tasty.
Toasty oak, straw, slate and violets. Good fruit weight to go along with the oak profile. Feels like it is drinking well already, I don't think I'd give this too much more age.
Smoky, spice, red cherry and berries. Savoury on the palate with good structure and depth to the fruit. Well put together wine which has plenty of appeal.
France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru
Herbal elements, black cherry, some woody notes as well. I like the texture here, with the savoury herbal notes playing well with the black fruit profile. Has time to further develop.

Floral lift, liquorice and spice. Very nice flavour profile, has plenty of earthy savoury elements, red fruits and good balance. Good length as well. Give it more time to develop more complexity.

Served blind for others, most people at the table thought "old world". Herbal, cherry, olive, violets and plums. Some cool blue fruit profile on the palate, with interwoven spice and some good grip as well. I liked it!
Coffee, VA, chocolate and earth. Holding on with some soft fruit and just enough structure. With some more air, the nose actually lifts up further and some more red fruit peaks out. Drink now, but this was a really good bottle of this wine!
Slate, graphite, blackberry, earth and cherry liqueur. Good fruit weight on the palate, it has softened out a bit but still has good structure and fantastic length. Really lovely wine.
Tar, black berry, blueberry and violets. Lovely acidity on the palate to go along with the black fruit style. Really good length and there is still time for this to show more.

Blind. Orange gold colour. Marzipan, lemon, mandarin and pear. Super fresh on the palate, has obvious sweetness but the freshness and acid line counters well. Medium depth and length. Couldn't ask for a better bottle of this.
From a half bottle. Apple, orange, sugar, honey and pear. Textured, and fairly rich, but the cutting acid gives it lovely balance and stretches it out into excellent length. Obviously youthful but already incredibly tasty. More time will give it extra interest on top.

Herbal, slate and smoke. Bitter and quite tight on the palate, a light fruit profile and it doesn't feels especially balanced. Not a fan tonight.
