The wine stays for 11 months on the lees and gets 20% of French new oak. It results in a wine with yellow and white fruits, a touch of vanilla and smoke and firm but good acidity and a good length. Tasty and good wine.
This is a blend of 60% Chardonnay, and 40% Pinot Gris and Riesling. The wine has good minerals and some smoke in the bouquet as well as on the palate. Tropical yellow fruits as well. I couldn't recognize the different varietals, but it is certainly an interesting and very good wine.
This is a blend of Sauvignon Blanc and barrel fermented Semillon. The wine stays for 12 months on the lees and gets some oak. The result is a wine in which the SB is dominating in the nose and on the palate. Grasses, green apples and good citrus. A round, tasty and full bodied wine with a good length.
Beautiful Riesling bouquet with yellow tropical fruits. On the palate the same. Very full bodied, but more heavy than elegant. Good citrus and nicely dry. Could be compared with a dry fermented German Spätlese. Very good wine, although I would prefer a little more elegant style.
Typically Riesling with some petrol, smoke, white and yellow fruits in the bouquet. Same on the palate. Good minerals, ok acidity and a bit of residual sugar. Very good wine.

Although the wine was served a bit too warm I nevertheless made some notes. The bouquet is aromatic. Same on the palate. Soft yellow fruits, green apples and soft acidity. A fairly full bodied and nice wine.
The bouquet is still a bit locked. On the palate white and yellow fruits, nicely dry with mild citrus acidity. Not extremely aromatic. Really nice wine and still a bit too young. This can easily last until 2020.
The bouquet shows minerals but is still quite locked. Same on the palate, good structure, nicely dry and hidden acidity. This wine needs some ageing. Wait at least until 2018. No problem keeping this up to a decade after that.

This 2013 is so much different and more harmonious than the 2010 I tasted 2 years ago. A very floral bouquet with candy flavors as well. On the palate soft and ripe white and yellow tropical fruits, pleasant soft acidity and a good length. Really nice wine.
Ripe red berries in the bouquet. Same on the palate, strawberries, some minerals as well. A firm dose of sweetness, ok acidity and soft tannin. Very soft and smooth and maybe a bit too easy.
Ripe red forest fruits in the bouquet and on the palate. A firm dose of sweetness balanced by good acidity and round tannin with a soft bite. The wine has more structure than the Latuffa 2011 tasted beside it. 87+
80% Malbec with 16% Carignan and 4% Carmenère. Ripe red and dark forest fruits and some earth in the bouquet. Same on the palate, minerals as well, some sweetness, good and mild acidity and slightly sticky tannin. Very good wine which I would like to taste again with some more age on it. Early maturity now, probably better to wait until 2018+ 88 – 90+
55% Carmenère and 45 % Cabernet Sauvignon. The result is a wine with a lot of sweet and ripe blackberries and blueberries in the bouquet. Same on the palate with some sweetness and mild acidity. Beautiful oak and very soft and mild tannin. Good concentration and length. Very new world style, but certainly an excellent wine. Already a pleasure and certainly a future until 2020+ 90 - 91.

See my previous note. 17 months later the wine shows ripe forest fruits in the bouquet; red as well as black. On the palate the same, but the strawberries are up front. There is soft acidity and tannin and for my taste a bit too much sweetness which is not enough balanced by the acidity. Overall a very supple wine with ripe fruits and without much complexity. There definitely is a large audience for this. For me a party wine.
This is an 85% Malbec and 15 % Petit Verdot blend. The wine gets 70% of French oak and 30% of American oak. And to make it more complicated 60% of the oak is new and 30% is 2nd year oak. Not sure about the last 10%. The result is a wine with ripe dark forest fruits in the bouquet. On the palate the same fruits, toasted oak, some sweetness, firm acidity and tannin with a pleasant bite. Well made wine, ready now and at least until 2018. 89 - 90
This is a 50/50 Malbec and Cabernet Sauvignon blend. The wine shows ripe dark forest fruits in the bouquet as well as on the palate. Beautiful oak as well. A good balance between acidity and sweetness. Beautifully soft and round tannin with a pleasant bite and a medium plus length. New world style and a beautiful wine. Early maturity now and a future until at least 2020. 90 – 91

The name Misterio is probably a marketing reason, but also because the exact blend is kept secret. Five different varietals in this wine: Malbec, Bonarda, Cabernet Franc , Petit Verdot and Syrah. The wine gets 16 months of oak (no further details). In the bouquet ripe dark forest fruits. Same on the palate with good acidity, a touch of sweetness and well integrated oak and tannin. Well made wine, ready now and at least until 2018+ 88+
This is a Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot blend. In the bouquet the wine shows mainly red fruits. On the palate the same fruits, some minerals, a good balance between acidity and sweetness and round tannin. Ok and quite basic wine. Ready now and the next few years.
This is a wine made of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Shiraz. It gets 38 months of oak of which 45% is new oak. In the bouquet the wine shows dark and red forest fruits as well as some oaky flavors. On the palate ripe black and dark forest fruits, good oak and slightly sticky tannin. The wine is in its early maturity stage now and will probably benefit with a few years of ageing.

This vintage has 86% Cab. Sauvignon, 8% Petit Verdot and 6% Cabernet Franc. I did not make so many notes, but this is a very complete wine with ripe dark forest fruits, exclusive oak, a firm amount of sweetness, beautifully balanced by good acidity and soft and round, but also firm tannin. Still much too young. Probably wise to wait until 2018 - 2020. Tasting the still powerful 2000 beside it confirms that this 2012 can easily last until 2025. 92 – 94+ for today.

This vintage has 93 Cab. Sauvignon, 4% Petit Verdot and 3% Cab. Franc. Ripe red and dark forest fruits and sweet spices in the bouquet. Same on the palate, beautiful oak and a perfect balance between acidity and sweetness. The tannin is almost silky soft and also still has a good bite for some more years of cellaring. Although completely ready now, the wine is not yet at the end of its development stage. With a few more years of ageing the tannin will soften even a bit more so there will be even more finesse. My score for this beautiful wine is well above the average in CT, because imho the wine deserves it. 93
Spain, Castilla y León, Vino de la Tierra de Castilla y León
This wine has 90% Tempranillo and 10% Syrah. Ripe dark forest fruits in the bouquet. On the palate the same ripe dark berries, good acidity and lovely tannin with a beautiful bite. Already approachable, but in fact still a bit too young. Wait until 2016. It will drink nicely several years after that. 90 – 91+ for today.
Spain, Castilla y León, Vino de la Tierra de Castilla y León
This great wine is a 100% Tempranillo which gets 32 months of French oak, of which 75% is one year old and 25% two years old. The result is a concentrated wine wit in the bouquet extremely ripe dark forest fruits. On the palate the same with a lot of sweet spices, a beautiful balance between acidity and sweetness as well as soft and round, slightly sticky tannin. Early maturity now. Drink from 2016 five + years onwards. 93 – 94+

100% Tempranillo. Beautiful and slightly perfumed bouquet with ripe dark forest fruits, sweet spices and some chocolate. Same on the palate with a beautiful balance between acidity and sweetness. Soft and slightly sticky tannin. A great wine that pleases already and has a future until at least 2025. 93 - 94+

Ripe red fruits and a bit herbs and spices in the bouquet. On the palate supple red fruits, some herbs as well and soft acidity and tannin. An ok, easy going wine.
Beautiful bouquet with good minerals and red forest fruits. On the palate red and dark berries, minerals again, good acidity and slightly sticky tannin with a good bite. There is a pleasant tension in this wine. Already pleasant, but this can be cellared a few years as well.
Ripe red fruits like raspberries and cherries in the bouquet. On the palate the same fruits, some minerals, herbs and spices; e.g. clove. Ok acidity, some sweetness and supple, round tannin. Typical new world Pinot Noir. Has a good length.

A blend of 85% CS and 15% Sangiovese. In the bouquet red fruits, tobacco and coffee. On the palate ripe dark forest fruits, some chocolate, toast, good acidity and tannin. Overall a very good wine.
Sweet and ripe berry fruits in the bouquet. On the palate silky soft ripe red as well as dark forest fruits. Ok acidity and soft tannin. A full bodied and mouth filling wine. The 15.9 ABV shows a bit, but is not really disturbing.

This wine is a blend of 80% Tinto fino (Tempranillo), 10% CS, 8% Merlot and 2% Malbec. The bouquet is really beautiful with ripe dark forest fruits, luxurious oak and sweet spices. On the palate ripe dark berries as well, good spiciness and vanilla, some pleasant sweetness, good acidity and tannin with a lovely and a little bit sticky bite. Good length. The wine is a great pleasure to drink now and it can be stored until around 2020.

Beautiful Riesling bouquet with yellow tropical fruits. On the palate the same. Very full bodied, but more heavy than elegant. Good citrus and nicely dry. Could be compared with a dry fermented German Spätlese. Very good wine, although I would prefer a little more elegant style.

See my previous note. 17 months later the wine shows ripe forest fruits in the bouquet; red as well as black. On the palate the same, but the strawberries are up front. There is soft acidity and tannin and for my taste a bit too much sweetness which is not enough balanced by the acidity. Overall a very supple wine with ripe fruits and without much complexity. There definitely is a large audience for this. For me a party wine.

This is an 85% Malbec and 15 % Petit Verdot blend. The wine gets 70% of French oak and 30% of American oak. And to make it more complicated 60% of the oak is new and 30% is 2nd year oak. Still much too young. Probably wise to wait until 2018 - 2020. Tasting the still powerful 2000 beside it confirms that this 2012 can easily last until 2025. 92 – 94+ for today.

This vintage has 93 Cab. Sauvignon, 4% Petit Verdot and 3% Cab. Franc. Ripe red and dark forest fruits and sweet spices in the bouquet. Same on the palate, beautiful oak and a perfect balance between acidity and sweetness. The tannin is almost silky soft and also still has a good bite for some more years of cellaring. Although completely ready now, the wine is not yet at the end of its development stage. With a few more years of ageing the tannin will soften even a bit more so there will be even more finesse. My score for this beautiful wine is well above the average in CT, because imho the wine deserves it. 93

In the bouquet minerals, blood and bacon as well as dark and red berries. On the palate soft and round dark and red forest fruits, a firm dose of sweetness and mild acidity and very round tannin. The bouquet is Northern Rhône style and lovely. On the palate however the wine is a bit too easy going. Nevertheless a very good wine.

In the bouquet ripe dark forest fruits, sweet spices and exclusive oak. On the palate ripe dark and red forest fruits, herbs and spices like clove, good acidity and tannin. Concentrated and a mouth full. Really good wine. Early maturity now and it can last until 2020 at least. 92+ for today.
