Glass: Spiegelau Burgundy
Clear, pale golden color. Beautiful fine, smoky and surprisingly open nose. Not as complex as the DP 08, but almost.
On the palate also surprisingly open already. 12,5% abv. Elegant, balanced, fresh, precise, beautiful extract and juicy. Good length. Beautiful young Krug. 93-94

Glass: Spiegelau Burgundy
Clear, pale golden color. Intense nose, driven by oak and toasting.
You can drink it now, if you like very well made oaked Chardonnay, but I would recommend waiting 5+ years for the intense toasting notes to blend in. Certainly a complex wine with good potential. 88+

Glass: Spiegelau Burgundy
Clear, pale golden color. Clean, dense, salty and fine nose, a bit muted.
Round, elegant, some fresh citrus notes, fine oak, well integrated. Creamy, dense and salty, good length. Currently more joyful than the Huber we had in parallel. 90-91

Glass: Spiegelau Burgundy
Clear, deep golden color. Muted nose with some slight oxidative notes. On the palate quite advanced. Certainly not a good bottle. Quite shallow. This bottle somewhere around 87-88

Celar medium golden color. Medium intense, deep, smoky and slightly oaked nose. On the palate fresh, very mineral, deep, good grip and balance and a nice texture. Medium+ finish. In a beautiful spot at the moment. 91

Glass: Spiegelau Burgundy
Clear, pale golden color. Nose a bit muted and closed down.
This wine requires focus, otherwise you will not notice the elegance and balance. Very fine, silky texture, very good balance and harmony. Beautiful mineral core, spicy. Good length. Potential for at least another decade. 93+

Glass: Spiegelau Burgundy
Unfortunately drunk too young or we should have decanted it. Not showing its full potential. Compared to the Clavoillon the more expressive wine. It has all it needs and takes to come close to greatness, but it still needs time. 92-93+

Glass: Spiegelau Burgundy
Nice bubbles, but compared to the great Champagnes we had today it is like a football match between FC Nowhere against Real Madrid. Lacks the elegance and finesse of Champagne. Nevertheless good as a palate cleaner. 87-88

Glass: Spiegelau Burgundy
My first disappointment of the night. IMHO the bottle was past peak. Clear, deep tawny color. Fully mature nose, certainly fine and spicy, but not with the intoxicating flavors a great Chambertin can enchant.
On the palate some interesting spicy, cinnamon like notes, fine tannin, some tobacco, high acidity, 13,5% abv. Good length. Drinks nicely, but far from being great and for me declining. 90-91

Glass: Spiegelau Burgundy
My second disappointment of the night. Clear, deep garnet color. Fine deep and fruity nose, but also not very complex and multi-layered.
On the palate a bit drying tannin, 13%. Fresher than the Raphet, some fruit, good balance, good concentration and depth, good length, but also not very exciting. 91

Glass: Spiegelau Burgundy
My third disappointment of the night. Very advanced, mature bottle with some oxidative notes. Still some nice saltiness, but other than that not really exciting. I am still waiting for a really good Gantenbein Pinot... 88-89

Clear, deep garnet color. Beautiful fine, floral and spicy nose. On the palate quite fine and elegant, good tannin, 13,5% abv. Some vegetable and green notes, spicy, good length. This bottle should be drunk up, felt a bit past peak. Good, but not on a GC level. 90-91

Glass: Spiegelau Burgundy
Clear, deep garnet color. Fine, elegant, deep and smoky nose. On the palate fine tannin, medium+ ripe acidity. Beautiful blood/iron notes, salt mineral notes mixed with a dense sweet fruit. Very nice texture and balance. Good length. 92-93

Glass: Spiegelau Burgundy
Clear, deep and glowing ruby color.
Beautiful fine, dense and deep nose with great fruit and some blood. Complex and nice.
On the palate very fine and elegant. High, ripe and very fine tannin. Beautiful balance, elegance, precision and focus. Fine fruit mixed with some soil and a lovely mineral core. Very deep and with a good length. Only downside for me, it felt a tiny bit hot with only 13% abv. Nevertheless a beautiful wine with a solid upscale potential. 93-94

Glass: Spiegelau Burgundy
Clear, deep ruby-garnet color. Dense, compact nose, some green notes and oak.
It is hard to be compared against the Perrot-Minot, because it is a complete different style. It is like comparing a Porsche with a Mustang. Both are nice and have their fan base... The Huber has wonderful structure, texture and depth. More concentrated and bold, with a beautiful tension. This bottle would have clearly benefited from a decant. 92-93+

Clear, medium golden color. Holy cow! What a nose! Never had that before in a Dompi 08. So smoky, deep and complex. Simply wow and beautiful.
On the palate of course with the usual bit of sweetness, but what a tension and pressure! Creamy, wonderful balance, fine mousseux and an enormous length and great complexity! This bottle was in a wonderful spot right now. My WOTN. 96-97
