with friends like these ......

Just working on the second glass now. I will admit we opened a 2016 Walter Scott Chardonnay La Combe Verte and had a glass or two to bridge the gap before dinner

Opened it for dinner tonight but had to sneak an early bottle. Going to be nice with braised country pork ribs, white beans and kale

FIFY!

My FFP = 2011 Rotie Cellars Southern Blend. No dinner for a little while yet so I guess this is what they call a "Cocktail Wine".

Good choice. I’ve got all my FMs stored in Columbus but a couple are nearing drink time.

I'd give this a bit more time. (BTW - acquired this from Chris several years back).

FFP was a Bereche Brut Reserve NV Champagne. I had never tried this producer before. It was a delightful, festive match for a holiday lunch with a dear friend.

Whatever happened to your brother Y2K after that whole scare turned out to be bogus? Was he indicted for inciting a riot?

Lafond Syrah, Sta. Rita Hills, vintage 2011 or 2010 depending upon how one defines vintage. Grapes harvested in 2010, wine made in 2011. My handy guides to USA regs would put this at 2010, but wine labeled 2011. So go figure. But, anyway, opened last night and will be interesting to see how it evolves. Seems varietally correct and a definitely good January wine.

Warming Wine Cheers!

I love Rochefort. It gives Westy a run for its money. (I have had the 8 and 12 of both). Yum.

Sipping on a 2012 Castello di Camigliano Brunello di Montalcino. It needs a longer than 20 minute decant.
