We are in the midst of a deep cold snap (but FL standards) so all my neighbors are in parka's today. It was a frigid 48F this AM when we went biking. Man I don't miss living in the frozen north at all. :)

Moved to SoCal about 17 years ago from Chicagoland. Liked the Chicago museums, despised winters. Still do. Much better now.

Cheers and have a Merry!

Well, plenty of problems to aid in inventory reduction so party on. Once the truly insightful revelations start to appear, perhaps someone in the solutions pool will serve as scribe. We really need those world problems reduced.

I try to have inventory-reduction parties, but they don't work very well because my invitees are mostly winos with inventory-reduction problems of their own, and they bring more than they drink. How did we get this way?

66 degrees and sunny on Christmas Eve. We have our windows open. Feels like Florida! Or at least Charleston.

77F and under a severe thunderstorm/occasional tornado warning here. But we're dry, pantry is loaded, got a few bottles of hooch and we have no where to go. Let it rain, let it rain, let it rain.

The current forecast for Tampa on x-mas day is 86F. Only July 25th "Christmas in July" in the heat of summer it was only 84F.

We just had 3 inches of rain in the last 2 days, on top of the previous months total. Feels like late March or early April round here. Freaky.

White Christmas and sub 20 temps out here. Easy to keep the beer cold!

White Pass, about 50 miles west of me, got another 12 inches of snow today, and is at 190" for the season so far. Looking good for a nice snow pack for next summer's irrigation season.

Several inches of sleet & freezing rain in Chicago today. A rush hour traffic apocalypse is now proceeding....

My driveway was like shoveling cement.

A few degree colder and this would be an epic blizzard....

Ice storm Goliath making things a bit miserable here but we got to try out the Winter dog gear tonight. The 75# puppy had never seen sleet or anything like this. His dog paw covers and Helios Winter jacket did the trick. I just need to remember that I best bring gloves out into the wind chilled storm next time and that thin sweat pant bottoms make for a chilled underside.

Winter has finally showed up.

Well, we finally had our first real cold weather and first snowfall of the season in Ct.
Rather treacherous on the roads this am, but it turned to rain and should all be gone in the next day or two.

In SoCal, but DH was just outside covering up his container garden due to a Frost Advisory. Not as bad as the frozen tundra, but still....

Good reason for red wine and the fireplace.

Cheers!

Expected to be -8 F tonight Glad i have everything covered in my yard, otherwise many of my european vines would be dead.

No running outside for a few days....

Normally don't mind a few cold spells in the winter. The snow is pretty and it helps prepare me for spring & summer and enjoy it more when it comes around.

Good Lord... It's 36F right now and headed to 23F later tonight... Definitely a big red night.

2006 Ladera Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valley, a nice gift from one of America's great wood turners, Matthew Moulthrop. Matt, thanks for helping us fight off the Loachapoka chill!

In my hometown in the Midwest, they opened warming centers last night. The high last night = 6 degrees F, high today = 10 degrees.

Can't deal with that any more. And don't.

Cheers, pour a red, stay by the fireplace!

Don, as I predicted, it's pretty friggin cold by Loachapoka standards this morning, with air temps of 22F and feeling like 17F. My doxies are saying "are you crazy?" as I open the OUT door.

Supposed to get to 15 degrees (the sun is shining), but snow is starting tonight.

Dawn, do you ever get lake effect snow there? I know you're a fairly long ways from Lake Michigan, but maybe with a strong wind from the north/north-west?
