28F here in Tampa is like the iceage has arrived. (Last time it was this cold was 1986). I'll blame what ever plants die on the hurricane and not my lack of preppin' covers for them last night (or tonight) which I have not actually done...

I will however remember not to run the sprinklers this AM...

As I write this (7:45 PM EST) it's also 28 degrees in Rhinelander, WI and Grayling, MI. What a winter!

It's 28 degrees in Rhinelander WI year-round

Chris i am hoping that Washington gets some proper "normal" weather so bud break isn't out of control. I haven't even pruned back my grapes here, and given my schedule it won't happen anytime soon.

Beautiful sunrises and sunsets too, though. My wife took a lovely picture of the winter sunrise and snow looking out over our deck this morning. If I wasn't maxed out at photobucket I'd post it.

Photobucket is still trying to squeeze $$$ out of its patrons. I wonder if anyone has acceded to their demands.

I cannot warm up. According to my thermostat, it's 55 degrees outside and 70 inside, but I'm wearing 5 layers of clothing (3 of them wool), and my fingers are numb. I am officially tired of winter.

I just opened a Fronsac....maybe that will help.

Yesterday we received a few inches of that heavy cardiac snow and it felt like winters last nasty mess. Forecast the next two weeks is mild and our remaining snow should be melted by early week allowing people to get outdoors. March & early April is always a roller coaster ride of weather in the Midwest, but i am just happy if you can see the signs of spring.

Mid to high 80's (F) this week for us. I think we're done with winter (such as it was).

And so closes the shipping window until next January... maybe December.

Not from Jersey! There's a small opening for early March via DDS. (Den's Delivery Service)

It's baaaaaaaaack!!

Overnight low temp this morning is 70 degrees, nice and humid. For the next week the overnight lows are in the 30's (and windy). This is how the seasons change in the Midwest. Expecting frost and fall colors.

My air conditioner was running yesterday. The furnace will kick in tonight.

52F outside right now - Brrr. Predicting a low of 41 on Monday night. Good grief - it was just in the 90's last week!

It’s no better here. Temps up and down all over the place. One thing has held fast and that’s insane humidity. There is miss and mushrooms growing everywhere. Mold sporing and mildew concerns all over.

It’s strange to be looking for the first frost. The squirrels and chipmunks are busy burying nuts in my vines or digging holes next to my house. I feel that this will be a very cold Winter. As long as it’s not unusually long or sporting massive snowfalls, I’ll survive. If it gets too bad, I’ll have to head much farther South to ride it out. Nica isn’t an option right now, but Cartegna is looking more and more like it might be a base for 2-4 weeks.

I hope my TX peeps will get that break from the heat but in a more balanced way soon enough.

6:30 PM and dusk outside.....45 degrees already. Likely a killing frost tonight, which isn't unusual for this time of year, but it was 85 degrees....on Monday!

Our evenings are cooler, our days are shorter, and we have begun to get occasional rain. More rain forecast for the weekend.

So today I broke out the crockpot and put on some chicken chili. Plus is it's easy to make enough for at least 4 meals for us. Freezer. Crockpot. Good.

Still in the 90's here with lows in the mid 70's. Really looking forward to some cooler weather.

We had a delightful evening sitting on the porch with the fire going. This warming it was a comfortable 51deg. I will be napping on the porch this weekend.

Sitting on the back deck after making an Apple Pecan Bourbon Bundt Cake for my BIL & his partner for their visit.

It’s 58F outside. They’re inside... smart. A glass of red would hit the spot right now... sounds like a plan!

48 degrees when I left this morning. The store temperature was 67 degrees. Aaaaaaahhhhhh, finally! If I had my way, it would stay between 40 and 70 all year.

Hovering near 50 right now outside. Yesterday was only a high of 62F but once the sun broke through the clouds the solar heat made you rethink the fleece pullover. When the clouds moved back you were happy you kept the fleece on.
